FRS to introduce new vessel to operate the Melilla - Motril route in May

TARIFA, 13.03.2019 - Förde Reederei Seetouristik (FRS) will introduce a faster and higher capacity vessel to the Melilla - Motril route in the coming dates. The RoPax vessel, ''Golden Bridge'', will start operations on the line next May. This vessel, with an overall lenth of 186 metres and a beam of up to 24 metres, can make the Melilla - Motril crossing in 5 hours, meaning a reduction by 2 hours on the current crossing time.

FRS Windcat establishes new subsidiary FRS Windcat Polska

Upcoming Polish Offshore Wind Energy Industry

Flensburg, 24.10.2018 • FRS Windcat continues its growth with its recently established new subsidiary FRS Windcat Polska. The new office is based in Oliwa district in Gdansk, which will be one of the major-cities in Polands future offshore-development. The main reason for this step is the upcoming development from political authorities in Poland in the last months giving hopes to the industry that Offshore wind energy will become an important part of the country’s energy-mix. Additionally FRS Windcat started to train Polish skippers on its Crew Transfer Vessels (-CTVs) which are operating in the Baltic Sea. This will bring the company the possibility to have experienced Polish crew having worked on the Windcats CTVs and also already known to the specific operational area of the Baltic Sea.

FRS increases its Spanish routes with the operation of the Motril-Melilla and Huelva-Canary Islands lines

Operations on these routes to start at the beginning of July

Flensburg, 24.05.2018 • Our spanish subsidiary FRS Iberia consequently pursues its continuous growth strategy. Starting from the beginning of July 2018, the routes connecting the ports of Motril with Melilla and Huelva with the Canary Islands, operated until now by Naviera ARMAS, will be served with the high service quality for which FRS is known, utilizing the ships “Volcan de Tauce” (Motril - Melilla) and “Volcan de Teide” (Huelva - Canary Islands).

FRS Group acquires the vessel MV “Miranda” to operate Motril – Tangier Med line

Tarifa, 9. January 2018 • FRS Group and Godby confirmed that the vessel "Miranda" has become part of the FRS fleet. Kekepania Shipping Company Limited, a FRS company , is the new owner of the vessel. The RoRo vessel, which will be renamed MV "MIRAMAR EXPRESS", will commence operations for FRS in mid-January and will be sailing between Motril - Tangier Med, with daily departures throughout the year.

MV "MIRAMAR EXPRESS" has cabins for up to 12 drivers and a capacity of 1.624 lane meters. The 154 m long vessel can reach a maximum speed of 21 knots.

Introducing New FRS Caribbean Route from Miami to Grand Bahama Island

FRS Caribbean announces the launch of their brand‐new service to Freeport, Grand Bahama Island. The high‐speed craft “San Gwann”, currently operating between Miami and Bimini Island, is now adding a second destination, directly from Miami to Grand Bahama Island in just 3 hours. The vessel, offering comfortable seating for 427 passengers, is equipped with bars in both passenger decks, where passengers can enjoy refreshments and snacks during their voyage and a duty-­‐free shop to end a getaway with some mementoes and gifts. Guests can also purchase excursions onboard to enjoy the island, like water activities available from kayak, paddle boarding, jet skiing, snorkeling, and more.

Season review 2017 of FRS Helgoline

Flensburg, 15. Oktober 2017 • After 15 years in service, the high speed catamaran "Halunder Jet" says farewell to the Heligoland traffic. Having served from 2003 to 2017, the vessel took the trip to and from the island 2,944 times, shipping 1,278,042 passengers in a fast and comfortable way. Starting in the 2018 season, the "Halunder Jet" will be replaced by a brand new catamaran that is currently built by australian shipyard AUSTAL.

Weiße Flotte: New solar ship christened at Autostadt Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg/Stralsund, 1. September 2017 • On Tuesday, August 29th. 2017, the sixth solar catamaran of Weiße Flotte has been christened "Aluna" at the jetty of Autostadt Wolfsburg. Mrs. Elisabeth Pötsch, president of the International Circle of Friends Wolfsburg e.V. and wife of the chairman of the supervisory board of Volkswagen AG acted as godmother for the ship. Fans of Autostadt had been suggesting over 450 names for the vessel. In an online voting, the name suggestion of a 16 year old schoolgirl was selected.

FRS Iberia: 20.000 Euro for the 20 millionth passenger

August 2017 • On Wednesday thje 23rd. of August, 2017, the spanish subsidiary of FRS Förde Reederei Seetouristik, FRS Iberia, celebrated the 20 millionth passenger on board its ships since start of its operations on the Strait of Gibraltar in the year 2000. Lucky winner of the price of 20,000 € is Awatif Laguelil, a french-moroccan woman from Casablanca.

FRS HanseFerry: MS "Seebad Juliusruh" in Fahrt

Flensburg, 13.04.2017 • Förde Reederei Seetouristik (FRS) from Flensburg has commenced regular ship service between St. Pauli Landungsbrücken in Hamburg to Blankenese  on the 14th. of April 2017The vessel „Kleine Freiheit“ ("Small Freedom") connects the St. Pauli Piers in the heart of the city of Hamburg with the picturesk suburb of Blankenese, one of the most popular destinations with mediterranian flair. The connection will be offered daily, throughout the year. Apart from 240 Passengers, the ferry can also carry up to 30 bicycles.

FRS signs construction contract with AUSTAL: A new ship for Heligoland

Flensburg, 16.10.2016 • The Shipping Group Förde Reederei Seetouristik (FRS), based in the North of Germany and the Australian shipyard AUSTAL have signed a contract for the construction of a catamaran for the Heligoland traffic of FRS. The 56.4m long new construction has been specially developed for Heligoland traffic and can carry up to 692 passengers, who can look forward not only to the generous sun decks but also to the comfortable journey. The 35 knot-fast double hull ship will be delivered in spring 2018 to replace the "Halunder Jet" that has been in operation since 2003 on the Hamburg - Wedel - Cuxhaven – Heligoland route.



FRS Racing Team wins German Company Cup

Flensburg, 16.10.2016 • Good teamwork pays off: On October 1st and 2nd, the company sports championship sailing, called German Company Cup (“Deutscher Company Cup 2016“) was held on the Flensburg Fjord at Flensburg-Sonwik in the far north of Germany. The FRS Racing Team of the Foerde Reederei Seetouristik came out on top of the list.

HSC "San Gwann"

Flensburg/Miami, 07.07.2016 • FRS plans to start daily operations between Miami, Florida and Bimini, Bahamas this summer. For the new route, the high speed catamaran “San Gwann” was acquired. The vessel carries 427 passengers and reaches a speed of 38 knots, making the trip from port to port in only 2 hours.

With this unique offer FRS provides a day cruise service for everyone who wants to visit Bimini Island and come back on the same day, enjoying eight hours in the Bahamas. Furthermore customers have the opportunity to stay in the Hilton Hotel at Resort World Bimini. The grand opening of this brand new 5 star hotel has been announced, recently.

With this new route FRS extends its worldwide operations on short distance routes.

Meyer & Meyer and FRS Iberia agree long-term co-operation on the Strait of Gibraltar ferry route to Motril

FRS Acquires Clipper, Plans North American Expansion

SEATTLE, Washington, USA, 19.01.2016 • Clipper and FRS today announce that FRS has acquired a majority interest in Clipper. With the acquisition, Clipper will expand its Canadian service. Additionally, with Clipper’s support FRS will launch a new ferry service from Florida to Cuba, pending government guidance and approval.

FRS Iberia takes up new line Motril – Tanger Med

The route via Motril is an interesting alternative connection between Europe and Northern Africa since it is convieniently located on the so-called "Mediterraian motorway" A-7.

Weiße Flotte starts visitor transport service in the Wolfsburg Autostadt

Stralsund, 15. Dezember 2014 • Staring on January 1st, 2015, the "Weiße Flotte" (White Föleet) will start running the visitor transport within the Wolfsburg Autostadt theme park. The Weiße Flotte is a susidiary of the Förde Reederei Seetouristik from Flensburg, which runs maritime operations all over the world. Three ships will be in service for the visitor transport in Wolfsburg.

Weiße Flotte will run four passenger ferries powered by solar energy in Berlin in 2014

Stralsund, 13. November 2013 • The "Weiße Flotte GmbH" (White Fleet) from Stralsund will run four passenger ferry lines for the "Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG)" in Berlin. The vessels are solar powered and will be commissioned for the public transport service in Germany's capital from 2014 on.
